About Luxima

Luxima is the Digital Product Passport platform built by MBP Systems, a deep-tech spin-out from University College Dublin. The EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation will require millions of products to carry a digital passport — and the businesses least equipped to cope are the small and mid-sized makers the regulation reaches first. Luxima takes the product data a business already has, however messy, and turns it into compliant passports automatically. Our platform is live and our roadmap for the next twelve months is about building it out — which is where you come in.

The role

You'll own the product surface of the platform: everything a customer sees and touches. You'll work directly with the founding team, take features from a rough brief to production, and set the quality bar for the interface of a product that businesses will trust with their compliance. It's a full-stack role that leans front-of-stack — you'll spend most of your time in TypeScript and React, but you'll reach into the API layer whenever a feature needs it.

What you'll build

  • Onboarding and data import — the flows that take a customer from a messy spreadsheet or ERP export to structured product data, with clear feedback at every step.
  • The passport experience — the editor, review and approval flows where customers see what Luxima has generated and sign off on it.
  • The compliance dashboard — the at-a-glance view of what's compliant, what's pending and what needs attention across a customer's whole catalogue.
  • Public passport pages — the consumer-facing pages behind every QR code: fast, accessible, multilingual and good-looking on any device.
  • The component library — the design system that keeps all of the above consistent as the platform grows.

What you'll bring

  • 4+ years building production web applications (we'll calibrate scope and rate to where you are — strong mid-level and senior candidates are both welcome).
  • Deep, current TypeScript and React — you have strong opinions about state, data fetching and component design, held loosely.
  • Genuine product sense: you can take an underspecified brief, ask the right questions and ship something users understand without a manual.
  • Comfort across the stack — designing an API endpoint or adjusting a data model shouldn't require handing the work to someone else.
  • Care for the details that make software feel professional: accessibility, performance, empty states, error states.
  • The communication habits remote work depends on: clear writing, honest status, small PRs.

Nice to have

  • Design-system or component-library ownership.
  • Data-heavy UI: dashboards, tables, bulk editing, import/validation flows.
  • Next.js or other SSR frameworks, and an instinct for web performance and SEO.
  • B2B SaaS onboarding experience — you've made complex products feel simple before.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted development workflows.

The engagement

This is a 6-month contract with a planned extension path to 12 months, tied to our platform roadmap. You'll contract through your own company or an umbrella arrangement (Ireland, UK or EU). We're based at NovaUCD, University College Dublin's innovation hub, and work hybrid — time in the office with the team, remote when it suits the work. The day rate depends on experience — tell us your expectations and we'll be straight about fit.
