Careers
Small team. Hard problems. Real deadlines.
Luxima is the Digital Product Passport platform built by MBP Systems, a deep-tech spin-out from University College Dublin. Millions of European businesses are about to need what we're building — and we're hiring engineers to help us build it.
Work that ships — and matters
The EU's product passport deadlines are fixed in law. What you build goes in front of real businesses racing to meet them, not into a backlog. You'll see your work live within weeks of joining.
Senior by default
No layers, no ticket factories. You'll work directly with the founders and researchers, own features end to end, and make the technical calls in your area. We hire people we don't need to manage.
Problems worth solving
Turning messy, half-missing product data into regulator-proof passports is a genuinely hard data and AI problem — the kind we spun out of a university lab to solve. This is not another CRUD app.
How we work
We're a small, focused team that optimises for momentum and trust — not process.
Based at NovaUCD, Dublin
Our home is NovaUCD, University College Dublin's innovation hub — steps from the research this company grew out of. We work hybrid: in the office when it helps, remote when it doesn't.
Focused engagements
We hire for clearly scoped 6-month engagements with extension paths to 12 months — real commitments on both sides, tied to a real roadmap.
Rigour, shipped weekly
Short cycles, small PRs, honest demos — and a lab-bred scepticism of anything that only looks correct, in compliance data and in code.
Open roles
Mid/Senior Product Engineer
Frontend-leaning full-stack. Own the product surface of the platform — onboarding, the passport experience, dashboards and the public passport pages.
Senior Full-Stack Engineer
Backend-leaning. Own the core of the platform — data ingestion, the compliance rules engine, passport generation and the APIs everything runs on.
AI Engineer
Own the intelligence in the platform — the LLM extraction pipelines, evaluation infrastructure and human-in-the-loop review that turn messy product data into passport-ready facts.
How hiring works
Four steps, usually inside two weeks. No puzzles, no whiteboard theatre — just real conversations about real work.
Intro call
30 minutes with a founder. We tell you honestly where the company is; you tell us what you're looking for.
Technical deep-dive
60–75 minutes walking through systems you've actually built — the decisions, the trade-offs, the things you'd do differently.
Practical session
A short working session on a realistic Luxima problem, so we both see what collaborating feels like.
Decision
A reference conversation and an offer — typically within a few days of the practical session.
Don't see your role?
If you think you can help us build the compliance layer for European products, we'd like to hear from you anyway.
